Recently, Maersk and Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lingang group") signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Both parties consider to invest in the construction of Maersk Lingang international logistics distribution and distribution center project in Lingang New Area. Ms. Wu Bingqing, President of Maersk Greater China, and Mr. Zhu Weiqiang, vice president of Lingang Group signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Mr. Fan Chuyan, President of Maersk Asia Pacific region, Mr. Liu Jiaping, chairman of Lingang group, Mr. Sun Canglong, general manager of Shanghai Free Trade Zone United Development Co., Ltd. and other guests attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.



Mr. Fan Chuyan, President of the Asia Pacific region of Maersk, said: Maersk highly appreciates the various measures taken by Shanghai to further open up, and always pays attention to the specific policies to be introduced in the new zone. We hope to build an automated and digital Omni channel logistics distribution center with the support of Lingang group, which will provide personalized and one-stop services for global customers of Maersk and customers in New Lingang area and Yangtze River Delta. In addition, Maersk hopes to open up its international assembly business in Lingang as soon as possible, and is willing to carry out pilot projects with relevant parties to promote the implementation of the project.

According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly promote the construction of new port area, build a digital, automated and innovative international shipping logistics economy, and comprehensively enhance the competitiveness and influence of new port area in shipping, trade, finance and other fields by developing import and export logistics, international transit assembly, cross-border e-commerce, shipping finance, maritime legal services and other businesses, so as to promote Shanghai Construction of international shipping center.
